E-ENFOQUE
2024-CurrentlyE-ENFOQUE is a multi-format audiovisual experience designed to pause the fast-paced rhythm of the digital world by Edgar Mondragón & Erik López (IMGN).
_We live in an era marked by infoxication, a term coined by Spanish physicist Alfons Cornella, which describes the excess of information we are exposed to daily — an overload that surpasses our ability to process it.
According to a report by Domo titled Data Never Sleeps, every minute on the internet over 241 million emails are sent, more than 6 million Google searches are performed, and over 500 hours of video are uploaded to YouTube. This state of hyperconnectivity has led to a cognitive overload that directly impacts our mental health and attention span.
E–ENFOQUE seeks to create moments of pause that help mitigate the daily saturation of information, while inviting contemplation — an essential practice that has faded amid the whirlwind of modern life.
Currently, E–ENFOQUE has three iterations:
- A continuous audiovisual livestream, broadcasting via YouTube with 24 one-hour sound pieces accompanied by endlessly looping visuals. Livestream ︎
- A live audiovisual performance, featuring real-time music and visuals. Videos ︎
- An audiovisual installation for contemplation, combining sound and visual art.
